Office Procedures/Policies
Initial Examination
At the first appointment, diagnostic records are made to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, photos of the patient's face and teeth, and X-rays. Patients are given a specific plan (if they are ready) and the cost for treatment. Payment options are also discussed. There is no charge for this first visit.
Consultation/Start
We review, in detail, the steps to treatment as well as other needed paperwork. Treatment begins with the creation of plaster working models of the patient's teeth, which are used to set up braces or fabricate orthodontic appliances.
Regular Appointments
The beginning appointment when new appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) are inserted usually takes from one to two hours. Patients then see us at regular intervals five to ten weeks apart for adjustments, which average 20 to 30 minutes. We see patients by appointment only and make every effort to be on time. We ask that the same courtesy be returned. If an appointment cannot be kept, please notify us immediately.
Financial Policies
Cost
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. Fees and payment options will be discussed before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets, including a no down payment option. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans and file the necessary papers to the insurance company. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.
Fees
In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:
- If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a fee discount.
- To help accommodate our patient families, financial arrangements can be made to extend payments over a period of months.
- We accept payment by VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER AND 3RD PARTY FINANCING.
- In cases of serious delinquency, treatment will be discontinued, although we will make every effort to accommodate patients with temporary difficulties.
Insurance
We accept assignment of insurance benefits and do our best to work with insurance companies on behalf of our patients. We help our patients by determining the amount of coverage that is available, filing claims, and handling insurance concerns or changes as they arise. This minimizes time-consuming paperwork for our patient families. |
